Jake Paul has revealed that he’s been in talks with a current boxing champion for a possible fight should he beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Plus, that wouldn’t be the only reward for winning.

Since losing to Tommy Fury back in early 2023, Jake Paul has been honing in on actual boxers for his in-ring opponents. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has added wins over Andre August, Ryan Bourland, and Mike Tyson to his boxing record.

On June 28, he’ll step into the ring to face former WBC Middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., hoping to add another win. The fight against the Mexican had, initially, been tipped to be contested for a special WBC belt.

It has also been reported that a win for Jake would, finally, see him receiving a boxing world ranking for the Cruiserweight division. However, that’s not all.

Jake Paul wants Badou Jack title fight & could get world ranking

Speaking to ESPN ahead of the highly anticipated clash, the ‘Problem Child’ revealed that he has been talking to WBC Cruiserweight champion Badou Jack about a potential title fight.

“We are already talking to Badou Jack,” he told ESPN. “The WBC may rank me depending on how the fight with Chavez goes, and that would be needed to get a fight with Jack approved. That’s what I’m focused on.”

Jack, 41, has a 29–3–3 record and is currently on a seven-fight winning streak despite a near two-year break between his last two.

As Jake notes, he would need to be ranked to get a title shot, but that is something the WBC is considering if he wins “convincingly.”

“If he defeats Chavez, and depending on how the fight plays out, the committee will make the decision,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman told ESPN. “It’s very likely if he wins convincingly.”
