Despite having split up 35 years ago, legendary actor Jack Nicholson and Anjelica Huston clearly still care for each other. According to Huston, Nicholson offered his home to her during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.

During a recent interview, 73-year-old Academy Award winning actress Anjelica Huston said that when fleeing from her home with her housekeeper and pets in January due to the Los Angeles wildfires, she received a call from her ex Jack Nicholson, who asked if she needed a place to stay and offered his home as refuge.

Nicholson and Huston were in an on-and-off relationship from 1973 to 1990, and also starred together in the 1985 film Prizzi’s Honor, which is the film that Huston won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for.

“The phone just rang out of nowhere, and it was him. It’s always a comfort when he calls. It was heartbreakingly sweet. I’ve gone back over it several times in my head, and I think next time I’d accept the invitation,” Huston told People.

“Life gets in the way,” she added, discussing how often she sees Nicholson these days. “Also, for some reason, they’ve been doing endless rerouting and road work near his house, so it takes hours to get to him, and that’s always irritating. I always managed to be late going to see him, which is very irritating for him.”

Huston will next be seen starring in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, reprising her role as The Director from John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, when it releases in movie theaters on Friday, June 6. Nicholson has not appeared in a film since 2010’s How Do You Know.

Jack’s 33-year-old son Ray Nicholson is beginning to get a foothold in the acting business, as he’s appeared in 10 films this decade, including Promising Young Woman, Licorice Pizza, Smile 2, Borderline, and Novocaine.
