Paramount+ announced a new Christmas comedy filmDear Santa, starring Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Post Malone. Dear Santa will be the streaming service’s first original holiday film, so you know they have to start off with something strong. And this one does not disappoint. Dear Santa features Jack Black in a hilarious role for a Christmas movie, Satan. Yes, you really have to watch out how you address those letters to Santa because you wouldn’t want to be just one letter off and reach out to Satan Claus instead. Oops.

The trailer for Jack Black’s Dear Santa movie is available to watch below in all its devilish glory.

Peter and Bobby Farrelly, commonly referred to as the Farrelly brothers, will direct the film. Previously, the pair wrote and directed Dumb and Dumber, which starred Jim Carrey. We’re interested to see how their humor translates over to a Christmas movie. Peter Farrelly co-wrote and directed the multiple Academy Award-winning film Green Book.

Paramount+ will include Dear Santa in its “‘Tis the Season For Streaming” collection, a curated lineup of movies, holiday specials, and episodes centered around the festive season. On the day of its release, this Jack Black-holiday movie will also be available for digital purchase. The total run time of the film is 108 minutes. It will release in the U.S., UK, and Australia.

The plot of the story is as follows: Dear Santa is the story of a young boy (Robert Timothy Smith) who mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, resulting in a devilish Jack Black’s arrival to wreak havoc on the holidays. Dear Santa marks the return of the Farrelly Brothers, the hilarious minds behind Dumb & Dumber, Something About Mary, and more. With their latest collaboration, which joins their decades-spanning repertoire of wild comedy films, Christmas is going up in flames. 

Black of School of Rock and Jumanji fame will star as one of the main protagonists, the ever-so-popular Satan…err, um, I mean Santa. Black is starring in many new projects at the moment, including the upcoming Minecraft film. Alongside him will be Smith, who was in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Key from Key and Peele will make an appearance in the film. Brianne Howey who plays Georgia in Netflix show Ginny and Georgia also stars.

The PG-13-rated Dear Santa releases on Paramount+ in the U.S. on Nov 25 and in the UK and Australia on Nov 26. The film will debut in additional international markets, with the release date to be announced soon.
