It Ends With Us drama
It Ends With Us is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It is based on the book of the same name by Colleen Hoover. However, now that it is out, there has been some tension among the cast.
- Blake Lively, Jenny Slate, and the cast unfollow Justin Baldoni (director and co-star) on Instagram
- The cast does not appear with Justin on red carpets for the movie
- Justin hesitates on Today before being asked about Blake
- Blake and Jenny dodge questions about Justin during interviews
- The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that there was a riff in post-production because there were two different cuts of the film- one by Justin and one by Blake (also the producer)
- Blake brought her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in to write a few scenes and dialogue
- However, a source told the outlet that the team agreed on the final cut
“Why Justin Baldoni is not in any of the promos they have been doing?? They don’t even follow on Instagram,” another noticed.
LATEST UPDATE
Shortly after, a source cleared up the feud rumors to The Hollywood Reporter.
The insider said there was “a fracture among the filmmakers in the post-production process, wherein two different cuts of the movie emerged.”
Along with starring in the film, Justin also directed while Blake produced.
This allowed Blake to have an adequate say in the film’s creative process and make her own version of the movie.
Blake brought in her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to write part of the “rooftop scene,” despite the movie having a script by Christy Hall.
Sources added that Blake “commissioned a cut of the movie from editor Shane Reid, who was an editor on Deadpool & Wolverine, and who cut the Lively-directed music video for Taylor Swift’s I Bet You Think About Me.”
However, it is not clear if her cut was the final one used.
The insider toned down the rumors among the cast and said it is normal to have multiple movie cuts, adding that the team agreed with the final cut.
