IShowSpeed was irate on stream after finding out his third-grade yearbook photo had surfaced on the internet, revealing his weight loss journey as a child.
At just 20 years of age, IShowSpeed has become one of the most popular social media icons today. Boasting millions of followers across his platforms, fans are often glued to his streams, watching every moment of his chaotic IRL broadcasts or marathon gaming sessions unfold.
But before the worldwide celebrity status, IShowSpeed grew up away from the public spotlight, attending school and playing video games in his off time like many of us did. However, one part of his private, off-screen life has now been unearthed.
Fans obtained a yearbook picture from Speed’s time in elementary school, leaving the streaming star utterly shocked as to how they even got their hands on it.
IShowSpeed’s weight loss journey unearthed in leaked yearbook photo
Streaming on YouTube on March 1, Speed took some time to check through his community Discord and respond to questions from his fans. One viewer popped in to ask why Speed had never publicly discussed his weight loss journey, though they also provided a picture he thought would never reach social media.
“How the hell did y’all find my third-grade photo from when I was eight years old?” Speed yelled in confusion. “Y’all are dead*** weird.”
The image, which has since gone on to reach tens of millions of impressions across the internet, shows Speed as an eight-year-old child, donning glasses and a bright green Minecraft Creeper hoodie. He was part of the school’s ‘YouTube Society’ and ‘Minecraft Club.’
Confused as to how it had spilled out online, Speed was irate, blaming his immediate family. “The fact y’all have this is insane. The only person who has this is my mother, so I know who leaked this s***,” he claimed.
Of course, any students who attended the same school would also have had the chance to purchase that year’s schoolbook, meaning there are possibly dozens or hundreds of people out there with access to this image. It’s more than likely that a fellow student was the actual culprit.
“But yes, when I was eight, I was a Minecraft fan, and I did have a little weight on me,” Speed admitted. “I was small, and my metabolism was not working well. I used to eat a lot, and I wasn’t really active.
“But chat, that s*** is not funny.”
