A new Internet celebrity is emerging on TikTok and she goes by the name of @erikkaaahh but to the people she is best known as the ‘Rock Trap Girl.’
The phenomenon has already grown to the point where her fans are creating videos about her, claiming she is now their single favorite person on social media. But how did we get here?
It all started with Erika posting a video from her job at a nursery where she showed screenshots of the parking lot and shared additional details. Essentially, there is a hairpin turn in their private parking lot where speeding cars and trucks rip through there and hop the curb, spreading debris everywhere.
The curb has sustained a great amount of damage over the years from these reckless drivers who shouldn’t have been in the parking lot to begin with. So what did she do?
The Rock Trap Teaches Dangerous Drivers A Lesson
Is this vigilante justice? Perhaps. Is it legal? Of course. All she is doing is returning the large boulders back to the curb.
They own the lot and are responsible for the landscaping. It is the speeding drivers who are at fault for hopping curbs, hitting boulders, spreading them across the parking lot, and damaging their own vehicles.
Operating a front loader truck, Erika the ‘Rock Trap Girl’ merely picks the boulders back up and places them back onto the curbside landscaping. Here is one of her videos explaining the phenomenon:
How on earth do these drivers hop that curb with complete disregard for their vehicles? It is clearly visible!
She Gets ‘Em Every Time
In a TikTok video with 3.4 million views, @erikkaaahh shows the extent of the damage caused to the boulders when vehicles jump the curb. In this instance, the ‘rock trap’ was bowled over by the vehicle that was nowhere to be found.
Erika says “I would have loved to have seen what this car looked like afterwards.” That’s because the vehicle somehow dragged a boulder across the entire parking lot!
Commenters are on her side
While the drivers themselves might not love the ‘Rock Trap Girl’ everyone else supports her mission!
In a recent video, the top comment sums up most people’s thoughts on the drivers. User @mashmarriner wrote “are driving lessons illegal in America?” The obvious answer there is no.
On her most viral video, user @therealmanana wrote “it’s not a rock trap, it’s decorative landscaping.” After all, she does work at a plant/rock nursery. They are merely displaying the nursery’s goods…
For what it is worth, she has gone to extreme lengths to show the world how easy it is for cars to avoid hitting the curb.
Over the course of a month, Erika the ‘Rock Trap Girl’ has held it down at the nursery and well over a handful of cars have hit the boulders. At this rate, the cars might learn eventually but there is no telling when.
Meanwhile, her boss wholeheartedly supports the ‘Rock Trap Girl’ and her rock trap.
