Singer and songwriter Noah Cyrus is getting a bit personal in some tracks on her debut album, “The Hardest Part.” The album was initially slated for release on July 15 this year; however, it was pushed to September 16.
Noah is the daughter of celebrity couple Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus and sister to Miley Cyrus. Billy and Tish married in 1993 but recently filed for divorce after living separately for several months. They filed for the dissolution of their marriage on two prior occasions; however, they reconciled.
Tish filed the most recent divorce and stated that the couple had irreconcilable differences as the reason for the filing. In her track, released on August 26, Noah sang about waning love between a couple, much like the current state of her parent’s marriage.
Noah Cyrus’ Song About Parents’ Relationship
Noah is set to release her debut album, “The Hardest Part,” on September 16 and will reportedly include a track about her parent’s divorce. The singer revealed that she took inspiration from the duo’s almost three-decades-long marriage while writing the song.
The song titled “Every Beginning Ends” tells the sad story of two lovers who, after being together for a time, separate after their love wears out. The singer partnered with Benjamin Gibbard from Death Cab Cutie for the song. In the duet set to be released on August 26, the duo sang the lines in turn.
In the new track, Noah and Gibbard sing, “You have to wake up every morning and choose to love someone, but I’m finding that harder the more that I am falling out of love with you.” The “Good Cry” singer continued in the chorus, “We had some good times, didn’t we honey? Now everything beginning has ended with you.”
Noah Cyrus Wrote The Song With Benjamin Gibbard
According to Noah, the song helped her understand relationships more. The singer talked about the co-written song in a press release (per E!News), explaining that she discussed relationships in their different stages over the years while writing the song with the Death Cab Cutie member.
One of the relationships the 22-year-old looked at was that of her parents, Billy and Tish. She said, “[Benjamin and I] talked about past relationships, failed relationships, our parents’ relationships, and relationships that have lasted forever.”
The singer continued, “He told me his dad has a saying: ‘You have to wake up and choose to love someone every day,’ and it sparked this conversational song about the twilight of a relationship and the reluctance to admit that something has run its course.” Noah revealed that the conversation clicked with her, especially concerning her parents’ relationship.
Tish Cyrus Filed For Divorce
In April this year, Tish reportedly filed for divorce from her husband of almost thirty years, Billy. The court documents revealed that the couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. Tish also noted that they had not lived in the same home since February 2020.
According to a joint statement released to People Magazine early this year, the couple revealed that they were ready to create their own paths after decades together. The statement read, “It is after 30 years, five amazing children, and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways—not with sadness, but with love in our hearts.”
It continued, “We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.” The former couple previously filed for divorce two times before the most recent one.
The Pair Have Filed For Divorce Several Times In The Past
While the April filing is the most recent, Billy and Tish filed for the dissolution of their marriage twice prior. The first time was in 2010, and their joint statement at the time revealed that they were in the process of working out personal issues.
“As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” the statement revealed. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.” The duo called off the divorce and got back together the following year.
They filed for divorce again in 2013, and this time Billy was the one who released a statement. He wrote, “This is a personal matter, and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.” They got back together four years later.
