Irena maintains a plant-based diet. “The biggest thing I’ve done is a few years ago I decided to go fully plant-based and being a coeliac I was already on a pretty restrictive diet. Since going plant based, I have found that I have more energy, my overall health is so much better and my weight is far more consistent,” she told Body + Soul.

Irena doesn’t have to go on drastic diets, not even before appearing on The Bachelor. “I’m pretty consistent with my eating and exercise regime, nothing changed before coming into the show. I think consistency is the key,” she told the publication.

Irena is devoted to fitness. She takes “regular hikes plus cycle classes and reformer Pilates.” She also uses her Fitbit app for at-home exercises and walks for one hour every day. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

Irena detailed her diet to Body + Soul. “Because of my work schedule and shift work, my routine is different every day. I always start my day with my almond latte – I’m a total caffeine addict. Then I don’t really eat until lunch. Lunch is always my biggest meal, typically rice with Mexican beans and a salsa, and dinner would be a salad with some tofu that I dress with my quick go-to satay,” she said. “I’m a snacker, I’m always eating and I always carry nuts and fruit. I never leave the house without a snack in my bag. For dessert I do have a sweet tooth, I love a chocolate chia pudding topped with coconut yoghurt and berries.”

Irena treats herself to self-care. Her routine involves “regular infrared sauna sessions and having lymphatic drainage massages,” she told Body + Soul. “I found the helped detox the body, helped my skin and helped my muscles recover faster, plus it’s so relaxing.” “Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels,” says the Cleveland Clinic.
