InVisions have released a video for their latest single ‘Dissimulate’.
Having spent the last two summers playing shows across Europe with Spiritbox, Ice Nine Kills and Motionless in White, it’s the first new music of 2024 for the York band.
Speaking on ‘Dissimulate’, guitarist Lucas Gabb has shared:
“We went from one night playing to 50 people in a bar, to the next day playing to 1000 people with Ice Nine Kills & Spiritbox. When you finally get a seat at the table, you can’t help but feel like you need to prove you deserve to be there.
“‘Dissimulate’ focuses on imposter syndrome and the intrusive thoughts I think we can all experience as soon as things start going well. It’s a crazy concept, even when you’ve worked your entire life towards the same goal, when it finally feels like it’s going in the right direction your mind finds a way to put a negative spin on it.“
And on the video, the guitarist has added:
“As soon as we finished the track we knew we wanted the video to match the dystopian, sci-fi soundscape and to build a world for ‘Dissimulate’ to exist in, which led us to director Pavel Trebukhim. Late last year we flew out to Latvia to work with him and his team on our most ambitious video shoot to date. It took 48 hours, no sleep & shooting through the night to achieve our vision for ‘Dissimulate’ but we couldn’t be more stoked with the end result!”
