Jeff Timmons, the founding member of the Grammy-nominated pop group 98 Degrees, chatted about his latest endeavors with his group and other ventures.
President John F. Kennedy once said: “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” This quote applies to Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees.
Aside from Timmons, the quartet is made up of brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, and Justin Jeffre.
New album ‘Full Circle’
“I am very excited about the new album ‘Full Circle.’ I am thrilled,” Timmons exclaimed.
“It has been a long time coming. It was supposed to come out a little while back but we had issues with our other record label. We are super excited that it will be out on May 9th,” Timmons said.
‘Got U’ single
On their new single “Got U,” Timmons said, “Nick Lachey wrote it a while back with some other guys. When it was played for us about a year ago, we loved it because it sounds like a 98 Degrees song and we recorded it.”
Most recently, they released their new re-imagined version of “I Do (Cherish You).”
“All of the re-recorded songs are true to form,” he said. We tried to be very, very careful not to change them up too much. We wanted them to sound like the originals and we feel like we really accomplished that.”
“The atmospheric feels to them give them another dimension. I love how the evolving technology is allowing us to breathe new life into these songs,” he added.
Favorite songs on the new album
On his favorite songs for the new album, he said, “I think ‘Tremble’ is really good, ‘Got You’ is fantastic, and there is a really cool song called ‘Stranger Things (Have Happened).’ All the songs are really good.”
“I recorded a lot of my vocals here at my house, in my own studio,” he said.
Barnes and Noble 98 Degrees event in New York
On Saturday, May 10th, the multi-platinum, multi-award winning vocal group 98 Degrees will be at Barnes and Noble at 5th Avenue in New York for a signing event to celebrate the release of their new album “Full Circle.”
“I am thrilled about that, and I am also excited that people are buying physical goods again,” Timmons said.
“Not just people my age, but millennials in general. They like the physical goods and the experience of opening up the CDs and vinyl, and reading the liner notes and looking at the pictures,” he elaborated.
“Those things went away for a while but people missed those things, so I am really excited. It is a throwback to the events we used to do when we started out, and we are thrilled that this event sold out so fast,” Timmons added.
Upcoming Tour with 98 Degrees
On the forthcoming tour dates with 98 Degrees, Timmons shared, “We are doing some show dates here in the U.S. We also have a couple of dates in Canada, but primarily, we will focus on our overseas audience this year. We have some great fans in Southeast Asia, and we are going to go over there and perform.”

Will there be another collaboration between Jeff Timmons and Jessie Godderz?
When asked if there will be another collaboration with wrestler and entertainer Jessie Godderz, Timmons responded, “I don’t know. Jessie has been doing his own thing on his different TV shows.”
“Hopefully, we will get together soon and do something,” Timmons said. “Our collab ‘The Girl is With Me’ was so much fun. I would love to revisit that. Jessie is always on top of things.”
“Jessie is a great promoter, and he is a good guy. His wrestling persona is one thing, but Jessie is fantastic. Jessie always picks me up and he gives me a lot of props,” Timmons.
Their duet “The Girl is With Me” was fun, upbeat, feel-good, and most importantly, they both don’t take themselves too seriously in it.
Ashten turning 19
In his personal life, Ashten just turned 19 years old. “Ashton is a grown man now,” Timmons said. “I am proud of all my kids, and my wife Amanda. There is one child left that hasn’t graduated yet, and that’s our daughter Ariahuna.”
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Freedom.”
“I have the freedom to do whatever I want; I am doing so many fun things,” Timmons noted. “I have other artists that I’m working with, I have documentaries coming out, and I have 98 Degrees in full effect.”
Working with the mentalist Banachek
“Most recently, I had mentalist Banachek at the Wiggle Room in Los Angeles, and he crushed it there,” Timmons said.
“Banachek is amazing, and everyone we put in there is a great storyteller. I still don’t know how Banachek does it. He is really special,” Timmons acknowledged.
Message for his fans
For the dedicated 98 Degrees fans, Timmons said, “I just appreciate them. The older you get, the longer you do this, I never take it for granted. It is so great that our fans have embraced us throughout the years.”
“They are still there for us, and what is really fantastic about the last couple of years, with social media at your disposal, we gained all these new fans,” he noted.
“We have a whole new fan-base of younger people that are out there exploring our music, that just don’t want to hear what Spotify and the streamers are forcing down their throats. For us, we are just fortunate to be living the dream still,” Timmons concluded.
