A SPANISH influencer has died of skin cancer at the young age of 30, after spreading awareness on social media about the horrors of the disease.
Patricia Rite shared with her hundreds and thousands of fans on TikTok and Instagram about her journey with cancer.
As well as being an online influencer, Patricia also appeared on the Spanish reality TV show ‘Mujeres y Hombres y Viceversa’.
Patricia, who was born in Huelva, Spain, provided content on clothes and makeup brands, as well as sharing fashion inspiration.
However, after she was diagnosed with skin cancer four years ago, she used her platforms to spread awareness and document her final months.
At the time, she explained that her diagnosis followed the appearance of a strange mole.
The family of Patricia Rite announced her passing on her social media pages on April 16.
The family’s statement read: “Patricia left us. Her mother and her relatives ask for respect in these hard times.
“Thank you to all the people, who in one way or another, gave her support and love during this time, directly or indirectly.”
Her final post on Instagram was on 5 April, writing: “Busy week, I was going to be treated on Tuesday but was finally admitted to hospital and treated on Friday.
“Since then, bad vomiting with an achy body until yesterday. I couldn’t move from the bathroom and I felt terrible.
“Today, I feel a little stronger. Since yesterday, I haven’t vomited and I’ve started eating, which I hadn’t done since Friday, and I’m starting to improve. Let’s go little by little.”
One fan commented: “A huge hug to the whole family, I’m so sorry from the bottom of my heart.”
Carmen wrote: “I cannot believe it. Life is super unfair, Patri.
“Fly high, ever since I met you, you inspired me. My heart just skipped a beat. RIP precious, and a huge hug to her mother, family and friends.”
Isabelle said: “Patri, a little piece of you has remained in all of us, those of us who followed you and had you as part of our family.
“A big hug to your family and friends and another to your network ‘family’ of which we were many.”
Ruth remarked: “No no no. I can’t believe it, I just can’t. I have no words right now.”
