Ana Cheri, fitness influencer and model, is embracing an active lifestyle, recently sharing a hike in Banff, Canada with her followers on Instagram. She’s known for her diverse approach to health, combining exercise, adventure, and self-care to maintain her fit and healthy lifestyle. Whether it’s cycling, snorkeling, or hiking, Ana is all about moving her body and pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Here’s a closer look at some of the ways Ana stays healthy and fit, along with expert-backed insights on why these activities are so effective for both the body and mind.
Ana enjoys cycling. “Time to move that body 🙌🏽 what kind of cardio do you do?” she captioned a video from a spin class. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.
Ana snorkels. “Faced 2 of my fears 🦈🌊 sharks and the open ocean. These last few years I’ve pushed out of my comfort zone more than I have my entire life and I feel very accomplished. You never know what you can do if you don’t try. I’m grateful to have my man by my side who is always supporting me to be my best self and giving me a container to do so,” she captioned the Instagram video. “Would you swim with sharks 🦈???” Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.
Ana indulges in self-care. One of her methods? Dry brushing. “Very important for detoxification,” she says in a post, revealing how to dry brush. “Begin with light, pulsing pressure to awaken lymph node points, promoting a gentle detox. Brush in upward motions starting from your feet towards your lymph points to stimulate circulation and exfoliate, revealing radiant skin,” she says. What’s so great about it? “It not only enhances skin texture but also boosts circulation and supports the lymphatic system to help move the stagnant toxins out of your body. We cannot detox our lymphatic system on our own, this is why being active, lymphatic massage and dry brushing are so important. Pair it with a sauna session for a double detox to sweat out all the stagnant toxins you just moved around and you will be feeling refreshed inside and out.”
Ana also paddles. In her recent Banff post she goes kayaking. Kayaking is a great workout. Not only is it great for building upper body strength and helps reduce stress, but can burn up to 400 calories per hour, translating to 1,600 calories in four hours of paddling.
Ana is a hiker. “My first solo hike 🥹😆🏜️,” she captioned a post. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
