The TikTok influencer was stripping an old home when she came across a rare copper penny from the 1930s.

The Australian coin was one of 1500 made during the Great Depression and is said to fetch an eyewatering price.

Charlotte, 22, posted a short clip on her social media when she made the extraordinary find.

In the video she is seen in her protective gear, tearing up sheets of carpet and finding amazing relics of history.

During the footage, she said: “It was at this point in the clean that I got a tiny snippet into a hoarders mind and how they actually think.

“When we ripped up the carpet I realised there is so much history in this house, with the lady living here her whole life.

“We found old newspapers and even a penny that was valued more than £22,000.”

According to Coinworks, the 1930 penny holds a legendary status, making it one of the most valuable items for local collectors.

Because of its rare aesthetics and small supply, the coin holds a market value of at least £22,000 depending on its condition.

In 2019, it was reported one of the coins was sold for more than £631,000.

One penny is even on show at the British Museum.

Despite Charlotte’s incredible discovery, she said it was not a case of finders keepers.

She said: “We definitely did not keep the coin.

“It’s not a case of, like, finders keepers… it’s their property.

“The woman was very happy when we did a little bit of research about it though.”

As well as the potentially pricey coin, the clean also uncovered ancient newspapers.

One page even had a sports write-up about late Aussie cricketing legend, Richie Benaud, during his playing days.
