The upbeat track is the latest cut from I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘Gloom Division’, which arrives February 23.

It follows the release of the album’s prior tracks ‘What Love?’ and ‘Gloomtown Brats’.

Describing what the new track is about, Weekes has shared that it’s a little deeper than merely the sentiment of the title alone, saying:

“On the surface [‘Infatuation’] is about a romantic infatuation, but really it’s about indulging in your own ego. To the point of neglecting reality, and the consequences that always follow.”

When discussing the album with Rock Sound as part of our ‘The Album Story’ feature, Weekes went a lot further, saying “‘Infatuation’ is actually my favorite song from the record. To me, that song is like Hall & Oates, like joining a cult on a yacht that’s led by Michael McDonald. I’m in love with that one.

“It’s yacht rock, injected into the indie rock world, and hopefully done in a way that’s a little bit more contemporary and with more of my musical sensibilities.”

Produced by Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, MGMT, The Flaming Lips), ‘Gloom Division’ marks the follow-up to iDKHOW’s incredibly well-received 2020 album ‘Razzmatazz’.

You can pre-order your copy of the album on an exclusive orange cassette, available for delivery worldwide, only from Rock Sound.
