A THRIFTY shopper on TikTok struck silver when they found an unusual bowl at Goodwill.
The influencer said they nearly missed the thrift find, which was worth up to $260.
In a video, the TikToker (@labradoodle4) showed the bowl sitting in a row of plates and dishes.
“Almost didn’t bother looking at this row in Goodwill ‘cause I never find anything,” they said.
Then, the lucky bowl was revealed.
BOWLED OVER
They picked up a shiny bowl with smooth edges.
The Goodwill label said it was on sale for $4.25.
Looking underneath, a small marking made clear its value.
It said “Gorham Sterling 319.”
That means it’s made of silver.
An item with the same number sells for $259.95, though it’s unclear how much the condition of the bowl could impact the value.
The listing, on Replacements Ltd., listed it as a vegetable bowl.
“Never quit looking,” the TikToker said.
If the Goodwill bowl is in fact real Gorham Sterling, it could sell for hundreds.
THRILLING THRIFT
Thrifting has grown in popularity in recent years as shoppers grow more cost-conscious.
Thrifters can also find hidden treasures.
One Goodwill shopper found a rare dutch oven that is ordinarily worth over $400.
It was “slightly tarnished,” but was on sale for just $13.
Another thrifter bought an antique table for $30.
It turned out to be worth $1,350.
An antique camera from Goodwill could fetch $3,000.
