Hot Water Music have shared two new singles ahead of the release of their latest album ‘Vows’.
Set for release on May 10, ‘Vows’ will celebrate 30 years of the iconic band.
Following previously released album singles ‘Menace’, ‘Burn Forever’, ‘Remnants’ and ‘Fences’, the newly released ‘Side Of The Road’ and ‘Chewing On Broken Glass’ centre on the unpredictability of life.
Speaking about ‘Side Of The Road’, the band’s Chris Cresswell has shared:
“‘Side Of The Road’ is a song born from the all-too-familiar feeling of life tightening its grip, and in some cases not letting go until it’s gone too far.
“Sometimes along the way, the journey becomes the detour becomes the abrupt halt at the side of the road, and you’re left pondering the meaning of all your miles traveled.”
And speaking on ‘Chewing On Broken Glass’, the band’s Chris Wollard explains:
“Written in darker times, it’s about feeling like you’re not in control of your life… it can leave you struggling against the bitterness that comes with it all.”

Hot Water Music’s upcoming album was helmed by producer Brian McTernan, and features high-profile guest appearances from the likes of Thrice, Dallas Green of City and Colour and Alexisonfire, The Interrupters, and Turnstile’s Daniel Fang and Brendan Yates.
Discussing how the album relates to the band’s future, Chuck Ragan has shared:
“For some reason — and maybe because this is such a huge milestone —subconsciously I was thinking, ‘Who knows what is after this?‘
“I would love to say we’re going to keep making music for as long as we’re all around, but the truth is we never know when that’s the last session we do and I feel like I thought of that more than I ever had in the past.”
