HOME Alone’s Ken Hudson Campbell has shared good news with his fans.
The film star updated supporters on his health journey after being diagnosed with cancer.
Ken, 61, is known for his work on movies such as Home Alone, Groundhog Day, and Armageddon.
On October 27, 2023, he was diagnosed with cancer after a tumor was found on the bottom of his mouth.
Ken’s daughter, Michaela, created a GoFundMe for her dad, explaining that despite having health insurance they were still looking at high expenses, and used the page to share updates with their donors.
In December, Michaela announced, “Ken’s Surgery Was a Success! On Thursday December 7th, the day of the surgery. My Dad, Ken Hudson Campbell, went into the OR at 8am and was finished at 6pm.
“The cancer was removed successfully, and his jaw bone has been reconstructed from his fibula and attached. Despite the swelling and incisions, he looks great.
“My family and I went to visit him at 8:30pm. He was sedated, and would be until the next morning. The day after surgery, they took him off the respirator.
“He is in very good condition. He’s giving us hand signals at times, writing his thoughts down and trying his hardest to communicate with us, even though he cannot speak. He’s been making small improvements in different ways as each day goes by.”
She concluded, “Our family has been overwhelmed with all of your kind words, well wishes and donations. We cannot thank you all enough.”
However, the page was relatively quiet until May 6, when Ken shared a milestone achievement with his fans.
KEN’S BIG WIN
In Ken’s latest update, the Hollywood star was photographed standing proudly, with just the use of a cane.
Ken looked cool and comfortable in jeans and a denim jacket, and was shown punching the air in victory after ringing a bell.
In his caption, he explained, “You get to ring the bell when you’ve completed your course of radiation treatments. Six weeks, five times a week. 30 of ‘em!! Now I need a bucket of ice to stick my head into.
“I feel good. My leg has pretty much healed and I’m about to throw away the cane. Although it is a pretty good affectation.”
Ken added, “My beautiful daughter, Michaela and her brother Richard (hunky)and Sweet Kathleen have been beyond helpful and patient. I can be a handful. I’ve also lost over 100 lbs. Last time I was under 200lbs. I was in high school! So there’s that.
