HISTORY OF THE WORLD, PART II’s Trailer Is a Bonanza of Comedy Stars


If you’re a famous comedic actor not appearing on History of the World, Part II call your agent. Call your agent right now and demand they give you a good reason why, lest you find new representation. Because the hilarious new trailer for the sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1981 classic seemingly features every funny performer working in today. And we’re not exaggerating when we say that. History of the World, Part II‘s lineup of stars might be the most impressive group of comedians ever put together. This show looks like Mel Brooks said, “That, but funny,” after he saw Avengers: Endgame. If that’s what happened, well, the legend has done it again. This looks like he literally yelled, “Funny people….assemble,” and then they did. And together, they’re going to “take us through different periods of human history” via sketch, according to the show’s synopsis.

We’re eager to learn from this group, roughly all 17 million of them.

Their star-studded eight-episode, four-night event series kicks off at Hulu on March 6. If you’re one of the three or four funny people in Hollywood not on the show, we get it if you don’t want to watch. But we definitely will. We’ve waited 40 years to find out the rest of the world’s history.

Maybe that’s just how long they needed to find enough comedians to tell it.
