When you catch Inside Out 2 in theaters, you’re probably going to notice that the voices of Disgust and Fear sound a lot different. That’s because Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader were replaced for the sequel.
Amy Poehler reprises her role as Joy and was reportedly paid $5 million to provide her vocal talents for the movie. There are plenty of other returning stars as well!
Unfortunately, a deal couldn’t be reached to get Mindy and Bill to return.

Puck reported back in September 2022 that Mindy and Bill didn’t sign on for the film because of a pay dispute.
One report said that while Amy was receiving millions, other cast members were only offered around $100,000 for their talents.
“I had a great time working on Inside Out and am sure Inside Out 2 will be great. But I’m not working on it,” Mindy told TheWrap.
So, who is replacing them?
Liza Lapira – REPLACING MINDY KALING as Disgust
Liza Lapira is best known for her roles on TV shows like The Equalizer, 9JKL, Super Fun Night, and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.
She will be replacing Mindy as Disgust.
Tony Hale – REPLACING BILL HADER as Fear
Tony Hale, best known for his work on the TV show Veep, is replacing Bill as Fear.
