Heather Rae El Moussa, known for her role in the reality series Selling Sunset and as a former model, has recently embraced a new chapter in her wellness journey after welcoming her first child. Last month, El Moussa shared her routine on Instagram, highlighting her experience with postpartum fitness. “I gained 40 lbs. during pregnancy and I thought I was going to bounce back right away. However, I feel STRONGER and FITTER than before I had a baby now! I can contribute it to weights and protein!” El Moussa is committed to her health, regularly working with a trainer, walking with her son, and prioritizing healthy eating—all while maintaining a vegan lifestyle.
El Moussa makes sure to workout on a regular basis. One thing she does is sessions with a trainer. El Moussa talked about her routine with her trainer in the caption of her Instagram post. “Working out: I prioritize working out with my trainer @paulinastein 3 days a week for 30-50 minutes. If we can’t meet in person, we will FaceTime or i’ll use her app @paulinafitnessstudio.”
El Moussa also takes vitamins to help her stay healthy. She shared which ones she takes in the caption of her Instagram post. “My Daily Vitamins: AM: Electrolytes and Vegan Collagen Powder. PM: I take a supplement every night and I SWEAR BY IT! It’s completely changed my gut and my bloating. Let me know if you want me to share!”
El Moussa loves to walk with her son to stay in shape. She talked about this in her post’s caption. “Walking with Tristan: We always start our day with a 20 minute walk to the beach and we both love it!” Harvard Health states that walking has a lot of health benefits. “Harvard researchers looked at 32 obesity-promoting genes in over 12,000 people to determine how much these genes actually contribute to body weight. Among the study participants who walked briskly for about an hour a day, the effects of those genes were cut in half.”
El Moussa is vegan, and talked about this to VegNews. “Since Tarek and I have been together, he has cut out animal products significantly, and when I cook dinner at home, I cook gluten-free and plant-based. He is very supportive of me being vegan. Even at our wedding, we had both a regular and vegan menu, and everything was gluten-free—the vegan Bolognese was a guest favorite. We also had two cakes that were both gluten-free and vegan. From the very beginning of our relationship, he always made sure that whenever we ate out, there were always vegan options—and our wedding was no different.”
El Moussa loves to cook healthy meals for herself and her family. She shared some of her favorite recipes with VegNews. “I love to cook—I’m the queen of 20-minute, healthy meals. My go-tos are gluten-free pasta with vegan meatballs, broccoli, mushrooms, pasta sauce, fresh herbs and spices, and Bitchin’ Sauce. I also make burgers with baked potatoes and vegetables. The kids love the way I make veggies—I use vegan butter and cook them to where they are almost crispy. We also have a pizza oven so we try to do pizza night with the kids once a week—my hubby makes the best vegan pizza for me.”
