The first trailer for ‘Tron: Ares’ has been released giving us our first taste of the movie’s new soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails.
The sci-fi sequel, starring Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges, will be released in cinemas on October 10. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have written the film score, and although they have previously composed music for the likes of ‘Challenges’, ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Soul’, this is the first time they are using the Nine Inch Nails name for a movie soundtrack.
When asked about that decision, Reznor said “It is as Nine Inch Nails, and I think it’s influenced the way we approach scoring. It’s going to be a little grittier, and it’s just different; it’s still the same two people, but we’re in a different mindset. We feel like we can play by different rules a bit, and the people working on the film were excited about that, so we thought we’d try it.”
