A HEALTH and wellness influencer has tragically died of breast cancer aged just 30.
Juanita Lira Eguiguren was first diagnosed with the cruel disease in 2015 when she was just 22 years old.
Her family announced that she passed away on Saturday.
Relatives shared an inspirational message Eguiguren had written prior to her passing.
The post said: “For me, hope is peace. I believe that hope can always be stronger than fear.
“We may not be able to change the challenges and difficult circumstances that life gives us, but we can change our attitude and how we face and live with them.
“And I like to do so by holding on to my little piece of hope.”
Eguiguren was the daughter of the mayor of the Chilean town of Lo Barnechea.
The council said in a statement: “It is with deep regret, but with hope in Heaven, that we regretfully announce the death of Juanita Lira Eguiguren.”
The Chilean influencer found out she had breast cancer days before she was due to travel to Barcelona, Spain, to study design.
At the time, she explained: “I had to cancel the trip and drastically change all my plans.
“I had to face the disease and focus all my energy on getting better.
“I had surgery, radiotherapy, and after three months there were supposed to be no more tumour cells in my body.”
Believing she was in recovery, Lira was able to finish her studies and she also got married.
She underwent another biopsy in 2017 and doctors told her that her breast cancer had returned, but this time it had already spread to her lungs, lymph nodes and sternum.
Lira decided to drastically change her life and created a business.
