HBO Reveals Its Harry, Hermione, and Ron for New TV Series

HBO has found its Harry, Hermione, and Ron for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. After an exhaustive search with more than 10,000 child actors auditioning for the roles, newcomers Dominic McLaughlin has been cast as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

They join a cast that includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.

The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner (Succession), who also serves as showrunner, while Mark Mylod will direct multiple episodes. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling serves as an executive producer and creative consultant. Filming is expected to begin this summer.
