It seemed like Haliey Welch—the viral sensation most people know as Hawk Tuah Girl—had seen her meteoric rise end as quickly as it began courtesy of the crypto debacle she ended up embroiled in. However, all signs point to her mounting a comeback, which apparently includes a cameo in an upcoming television series starring Glen Powell.
Most people may not know Haliey Welch by name, but anyone who’s spent enough time on the internet is likely familiar with the clip that made her an overnight celebrity courtesy of The Hawk Tuah Heard Around The World.
The Tennessee native quickly capitalized on her newfound fame by selling merch and getting paid to simply show up places before attempting to leverage her notoriety into a podcasting career with the Talk Tuah podcast, which released an episode titled “How To Avoid Getting Cancelled” just a few days before she befell that fate after the memecoin she promoted turned out to be a massive scam.
Welch basically disappeared off the face of the earth before resurfacing at the end of March with a video that set up the redemption tour that recently got underway.
Earlier this month, she took a victory lap after seemingly being cleared of any wrongdoing in the wake of an SEC investigation into the crypto rug pull, and on Wednesday, Talk Tuah officially returned after a four-month hiatus.
That wasn’t the only notable development to transpire on the Hawk Tuah front this week, as TMZ reports Welch recently landed what appears to be her first-ever acting gig in the form of a cameo on Chad Powers, the Hulu series where Glen Powell will be stepping into the role of the fictional quarterback Eli Manning created for his own show on ESPN.
If you’re worried about Chad Powers spoilers, you might want to stop reading here, but the outlet says Welch will be playing herself in a scene where Powell’s character encounters her in a club while celebrating his selection in the XFL Draft.
