The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, reportedly blame their recent business woes on a royal family vendetta. After losing their Spotify deal, and suffering a donation decline to their Archewell foundation, the couple are reconsidering their situation.
Harry and Meghan are now reportedly trying to “repair the damage” done to their relationship with the royal family. However, their efforts are stunted by Omid Scobie’s controversial memoir “Endgame,” which paints the royal family in even darker colors.
Harry & Meghan Think The Royal Family Has A Vendetta Against Them
After multiple failed projects and losing potential partnerships, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly now pointing fingers at a royal family vendetta. Insiders close to the Sussexes revealed to The Express that the couple have held multiple crisis talks about their struggling businesses.
The source said, “There’s a general feeling that there has been a vendetta waged against them. There have been talks held with high profile brands that didn’t lead to anything but should have done. Those brands then actively courted other members of the family.”
A good example is the massive Dior deal Meghan allegedly lost out on to actress Meg Bellamy, who played young Kate Middleton in season six of “The Crown.” In an interesting turn, Queen Camilla was later seen wearing Dior Haute Couture to the Palace of Versailles when she visited France in September, not long before the alleged deal with Meghan was struck out.
The source further said, “Both Harry and Meghan often wore Dior and were at one point huge fans of the brand. Harry wore Dior to the Coronation and the Sussexes were starting to build up their partnership with the fashion house. Then the focus shifted towards Camilla and other members of the family. To add salt to the wounds, the actress playing Kate Middleton was announced as the new face of the brand. It was all very suspicious timing.”
Harry & Meghan’s Projects Are Struggling
The Dior deal is only one example of opportunities the couple, especially Meghan, have lost this year. In April, Meghan announced a new contract with William Morris Endeavor (WME), which would produce more lucrative deals. However, it’s been months since that contract was signed, and there’s no word of any incoming projects from the deal.
Harry and Meghan lost their massive $20 million partnership with Spotify this same year after only one season of the former actress’ podcast “Archetypes.” They were later insulted heavily by Spotify exec Bill Simmons, who called the couple “grifters.”
Harry and Meghan have also struggled with their charity organization, Archewell Foundation. The organization has revealed that its donations for 2023 experienced a £9 million decline from 2022. According to the public filing, the decline has left Archewell’s financial statements in the red by over £540,000.
Harry & Meghan Are Trying To Reconcile With The Family
The insider spoke to The Express about how Harry and Meghan are handling the blows to their partnerships and business deals and the solutions they’re considering.
They said, “They are thrashing around like a fish out of water. The team doesn’t appear to know what to do at this point. The consensus now is to try and repair the damage done to the Royal Family and hope that link will help them out of the doldrums.”
The insider explained that Harry and Meghan are “struggling to find the best way forward.” The Duke of Sussex is reportedly trying to reconnect with the royal family they’ve scorned but “doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere.”
The source added, “He appears to have well and truly burned those bridges,” as most members seem to want nothing to do with the couple.
Omid Scobie’s Memoir Further Damaged The Relationship
Harry and Meghan’s attempts at reconciliation are likely being rebuffed by the royal family, as the relationship got even more tense with the release of Omid Scobie’s new memoir “Endgame.” The book exposed more of the royal’s alleged negative treatment towards Harry and Meghan during their time as senior royals.
In his book, Scobie heavily attacked Camilla, Charles, and William and made claims that the King and William hid Queen Elizabeth’s death from Harry until the press announced it. He also claimed that Charles and Kate were the two senior royals who made racist comments about being concerned for Prince Archie’s skin color before he was born.
The insider told The Express that Charles is reluctant to meet with Harry or his wife. They said, “There is very little trust there which is understandable. If there will be a meeting, it will have to be done properly with aides and officials present, and everything documented with minutes taken.”
