Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, which will be the first Captain America film to star Anthony Mackie instead of Chris Evans.
The teaser is perhaps most notable because it features Harrison Ford’s MCU, as the legendary actor is taking over the part of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross from the late William Hurt, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 71.
Check out the official teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, which will be released in movie theaters in the United States on February 14, 2025, below.
Here is the official synopsis for Captain America: Brave New World, via Marvel Studios:
“After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
Alongside Anthony Mackie in the lead role of Sam Wilson/Captain America and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross/Red Hulk, Captain America: Brave New World stars Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, and Liv Tyler. Mark Ruffalo has also said he’ll be appearing in the film in his Marvel Cinematic Universe stalwart role of Bruce Banner/Hulk.
While Marvel Studios is releasing just one movie in 2024 — the upcoming and highly-anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, hitting theaters on July 26 — Captain America: Brave New World is one of four movies scheduled to release next year alongside Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four, and Blade (although there is a 99% chance that Blade gets delayed again).
