Haliey Welch aka the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl famously disappeared from the public eye in December 2024 after meme coin $HAWK plummeted. Her disastrous meme coin launch consequently led to allegations of a ‘pump and dump’ scheme and an SEC investigation was launch which eventually cleared her of any and all wrongdoing.

The Hawk Tuah Girl has reemerged into the public eye by playing in the Celebrity Poker Tour (CPT) Game Night VI at ARIA’s PokerGO Studio over the weekend where she spoke with PokerNews and simultaneously sitting for an interview with Vanity Fair about everything she went through.

It is always worth mentioning that Haliey Welch never set out to be famous. She became an overnight celebrity from her ‘Hawk Tuah’ man-on-the-street clip which led to her Talk Tuah podcast, agency representation, brand deals, and more. Now that she has been cleared by the SEC investigation, the Hawk Tuah girl that America fell in love with wants to change her image.

The Hawk Tuah Girl Is Rebranding Herself

Welch told Connor Richards of PokerNews that she’s “in the middle of rebranding right now.” Adding “I’ve had a lot of time to think. I want to rebrand.” When pressed on what that rebrand will look like, Haliey Welch said “I guess you’ll have to watch and see.” She would finish in 5th place in the 10-person Celebrity Poker Tour freeroll with Jose Canseco finishing in 2nd, Josie Canseco finishing 6th, and Adrian Peterson finishing 9th.

While Haliey Welch was in Las Vegas for the CPT event, her new Vanity Fair interview with Chris Murphy was published where the Hawk Tuah girl discusses how she spent her time away when she disappeared from social media and the public eye entirely following the meme coin debacle.

Welch told Vanity Fair she used the time to work on her mental well being, saying “I hate to say this, but it was a much-needed mental health—just…what do you call it? A mental health break, I guess, is what you can call it.
I would see my friends. I would go out and eat. That’s really about it. I don’t ever get out and do much when I’m home. I like being by myself.”

When asked about how the $HAWK meme coin scandal impacted her mental well health, with many of her fans losing large sums of money in a very short period of time she told Vanity Fair “it’s really overwhelming. Your whole life’s basically online, and then people can say anything they want to you. And then you got to sit there with the thought, Oh, a lot of people just lost money because of something you did, like, [something] you led them to. You got to be really strong to be in this kind of space, I feel like.”

What’s Next For Haliey Welch

Following the $HAWK meme coin scandal and disappearance from public, Haliey Welch also parted ways with Jake Paul’s production company Betr. She told VF the departure was a “mutual thing” and they are “not on any bad terms” after the split. Adding “Jake Paul, he’s good as gold. He was the one to give me the opportunity.”

But, with her popular Talk Tuah podcast and celebrity status, there’s surely more in the future for her. Speaking about that, the Hawk Tuah Girl told VF “my plans for the podcast right now are just rebuilding it, rebranding, and then trying to get really good guests on so more people will start watching it. I don’t know. It feels good because now I’m the official owner of it, so it’s my show and I can make it however I want to.”

In the past, she has said her dream guests for the podcast are Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. It remains to be seen if either would ever appear on the Talk Tuah podcast but you never know.

Elsewhere in the VF interview, she discussed her role in Glen Powell’s upcoming ‘Chad Powers’ TV show… Shortly after that, she speaks to any kids who may go viral in the future, saying “definitely be careful what you tie your name into and who you trust.”
