It has been 18 years since Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was released and gamers have been struggling with Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce ever since. Well, most gamers struggled with it while a few have been able to beast their way through the game in ways most mortals cannot comprehend.
This streamer, Carny Jared, is one of those absolute freaks of nature who is able to play Guitar Hero at speeds many minds cannot process. Here he crushes Through the Fire and Flames at 200% speed and gets a nearly perfect score, about as perfect as anyone will ever be able to do.
His manhandling of the DragonForce song has since gone viral across YouTube and Reddit after it was picked up by a few subreddits on Wednesday but here we have the YouTube version as the creator gets attribution for that unlike on Reddit where they didn’t even mention his name:
My fingers hurt just watching that. I’m having flashbacks to my early days in NYC after college when we’d pregame a night out with Guitar Hero or Rock Band coupled with a power hour or multiple power hours in a row. It was impossible to think of those as the glory days in the moment but looking back that was a pretty darn fun time in life.
Long before this Through the Fire and Flames feat, stream Carny Jared has made an appearance on BroBible. I wrote about his skills back in 2021 when he became the first person in history to get a perfect score on Soulless 6, a barely 2-minute song that’s considered to be the hardest in Guitar Hero history.
Honestly, I have no need for coffee this afternoon. Nor RedBull. I don’t need those wings. By simply watching these videos I’ve brought my heart rate up to the same speed if I were doing a 60-minute spin class or a 2K spring on the erg. An absolute rush.
