A GRAMMY winner has admitted that he’s now in his flop era.
Heading out in New York City and going unrecognized while on a stroll, this hitmaker made the candid confession as he went about his day.
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, is a 25-year-old rapper and singer.
He rose to prominence with the release of his 2018 country rap single Old Town Road.
The hit was the longest-running number-one song since the U.S. Billboard Hot 100’s 1958 inception.
In 2020, Lil Nas X won two Grammy Awards: one for Best Music Video and one for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, both for the aforementioned song with Billy Ray Cyrus.

But since finding fame and having a string of hits, Lil Nas X’s recent singles have not been doing well.
Taking to TikTok to share a video of himself walking around Union Square, which is one of the busiest places in New York, Lil Nas X went unnoticed.
The rapper could be seen rocking a blue hoodie and a had with ears.
Filming himself as he walked around, the musician was beaming and seemingly very content.
“How it feels to be in my flop era and finally be able to exist as a human being again,” he penned alongside the video.
Fans of the star instantly reacted, with one commenting: “If this is a flop era. I’m in.”
“I love when artists are self conscious of their current status and are in touch,” said a second.
‘WE’RE STILL HERE BABE!’
A third penned: “No because literally it must feel so good to just be normal with lots of money.”
“Flop??? I figured you’re just chillin and cooking in the studio. Artists don’t need back to back releases to be relevant! We’re still here babe! But glad you’re getting some peace,” added a fourth.
A fifth said: “It just means you go back to being a normal person but with a lot of money in the bank, ideal tbh.”
While a sixth wrote: “Wait the way i swear i passed you on the street in this outfit and thought ‘huh that guy looks like lil nas x but nah that’s probably just some regular dude’.”
And a seventh said: “You could never have a flop era after all that success baby. Impossible. Your flop era looks better than my peak.”
RAPPER SPLITS FROM MANAGER
This comes after The Sun revealed Lil Nas X sacked his manager in February.
Lil Nas X sacked Adam Leber and has now signed on to be represented by Crush Music ahead of the release of his second album.
A source said: “When you have such a stratospheric first album, the pressure to maintain that and produce hits is immense.
“Lil Nas has been constantly in the studio but Columbia Records, the label he is signed to, have been underwhelmed with some of the music and keep asking for more.
“For everyone, the second album must be a success, so no chances are being taken.
“Lil Nas split with his old manager and brought a new team in to look after him.”
