Goldie Hawn is bidding farewell to beautiful Skiathos, Greece, after what looked like a beautiful vacation. Hawn, 77, shared a stunning shot of herself posing on the beach in the surf, silhouetted against a magical sunset in a black one-piece swimsuit. “Last day in Skiathos this year. Bye bye paradise 🏖️,” she captioned the post. “Skiathos is heaven on earth,” one fan commented. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Hawn stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
Hawn watches her food intake and portion size, and relies on fresh green juice for energy and vitality. “I don’t eat a lot. I think we overeat,” she says. “[And] I drink my green juice every day! I do a lot of juicing, I don’t put a lot of food in my stomach and I don’t mix my foods too much. So if I want to have like protein, I’ll just eat a bowl of lentils, I won’t mix it with a bunch of stuff.”
Hawn loves walking and running, but vastly prefers interval training as her method of exercise. “I try to stay positive and be very very active,” she says. “I walk every day and I run and do all kinds of that. If I don’t have an hour, I’ll do 15 minute intervals. Actually, it’s a very good thing to do. If you’re taxing yourself too much in an hour, you’re taxing a lot of things.”
Hawn starts the day in a positive mindset. “I wake up at about 7 a.m. [The first thing I do is] say some affirmations, which is how my day is going to be,” she says. “It’s going to be great — take a lot of deep breaths; I breathe big, deep breaths, hold it — especially if I’m feeling sleepy — and, after about four breaths, my eyes just pop right open. Oxygen is a big deal.”
Hawn keeps her wellness routine simple yet effective. “It’s not a secret. I try to drink my juices. I try to work out every day a little bit,” she says. “I find moments in the day. I have short meditation spurts during the day, if I don’t have a long one in the morning, which sometimes the phone rings and you’re off and running, but I do find time to get quiet. I hike. I bike. I try to have as much fun as possible.”
Hawn swears by coconut oil and lemon juice for a beautiful complexion. “I don’t do much. I was using coconut oil for a while on my face,” she says. “My mom used to do lemon; she’d squeeze lemon, and she’d put it on her face. I also glance a lot at my face, but I don’t study it. I’m not a studier of my face, of my beauty.”
