Hadid, like many people, works with a personal trainer to help her stay in shape. She works with Rob Piela, a New York City based trainer. “When Gigi is in New York, we’ll work out every day for an hour, combining high-cardio boxing sequences of jabs, elbows and uppercuts plus knees and kicks with strength-training exercises on the mat,” he says to Women’s Health.
Piela tells Women’s Health that he likes to keep Hadid’s workouts interesting. He says that he does this by switching up her workouts. “No one wants to be doing the same thing over and over, and they like to be challenged. So we shake things up depending on how they’re feeling. Consistency is key – schedule in regular workouts.”
Even with Hadid’s busy schedule, she still makes time for herself. She says to SELF that she likes to take days to herself. “Cooking and art is what grounds me,” she says. “It’s stripping it all back down to the simple things that makes me happy.”
Hadid is a big fan of boxing as a way to stay in shape. She tells SELF that she finds the workout very invigorating. “When I moved to New York, going to the gym just to be on the treadmill was super boring for me,” she says. “I needed to find something that was exercising my brain. For me, that was boxing, and it became my new sport.”
Hadid broke down her daily routine to Harper’s Bazaar. She says that she always starts her day with a healthy breakfast. “I usually eat breakfast or have coffee before I do anything. I live near the Smile, and I love their scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I drink orange juice and coffee always. At home I love scrambled eggs and toast; it’s just an easy go-to.”
