In the midst of their US arena tour, Ghost stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the song “Lachryma.”
The Swedish band appeared on the Wednesday (July 23rd) episode of the late-night show, running through the second single from its latest album, SKELETÁ.
For the uninitiated, this was a convincing example of Ghost’s blend of heavy metal with melodic rock, featuring an airtight performance from the “Nameless Ghouls” — frontman Papa V Perpetua’s backing band. Papa himself (aka Tobias Forge) is also in fine singing form throughout the song, which was a solid choice for potentially garnering new fans, as it balances just enough metallic riffage with Ghost’s catchy AOR/pop rock tendencies.

The Fallon gig came a day after Ghost performed a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden just a hours after news of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing. Forge stopped the show after a handful of songs to address the crowd and dedicate the concert to the Prince of Darkness.
The band’s ongoing tour picks back up on Thursday (July 24th) in Detroit and runs through August 16th in Houston. Get tickets here.
