George Clooney shared his fears about his young twin’s heritage in several unearthed clips.

The American actor, who shares twins Alexander and Ella with his British-Lebanese wife, Amal, was particularly confused about why they were becoming “too British.”

The “Wolfs” actor made the declaration in a 2020 clip in which he spoke to Stephen Colbert on his “Late Night Talk” show, revealing that he was trying to prevent them from cherishing the British slang they’d picked up.

“Look, I’ve got problems already, which is I’m desperately trying not to make them little Brits,” Clooney revealed, per the Daily Mail. “It’s not a jumper, it’s a sweater. It’s not a boot, it’s the trunk. It’s the pavement, it’s the sidewalk.”

“I’ve done everything to change their version to speak with an English accent,” he continued. “So they were writing out their note to Santa, I said, ‘So then we’re going to leave them cookies, and my son goes, ‘No, it’s milk and a mince pie.'”

Elsewhere in his chat with Colbert, Clooney disclosed that he’d perfected a way to have his young kids behave when the holidays come around.

“I’ve devised a way to get them to behave. When they’re asleep in the morning and they start to make noises…and you can hear the two of them getting at each other or something, and I stand outside their door, and I go, ‘Oh, hey, hi, Santa,'” he shared.

“And then you hear Santa is there, and he’s like, ‘Ho ho ho!’ And I say, ‘What are you doing here, Santa?’ and he says, ‘Oh, I’m just making sure that the kids are being good kids,'” Clooney admitted.

Hopefully, Clooney will have better luck this Christmas trying to make them behave as it promises to be a multicultural holiday.

In a clip from 2023, Jimmy Kimmel could be seen telling the two-time Oscar winner how he ran into his wife, Amal, who told him that their children speak French and Italian.

“I’m not a very smart person, and my wife speaks French and Italian,” Clooney said, per the Daily Mail, joking that he is “enjoying the ignorance.”

The 63-year-old actor and filmmaker then shared that he thinks his children think he might be “dumb” because he tries to fake certain things in the languages they know.

“I’ll try to fake something in the wrong language, and they’ll just look at me like, ‘You’re an idiot,'” he explained.

Clooney and Amal have managed to shield their twins from the spotlight, but he previously opened up on what raising them looks like, sharing that they are already developing their personalities, per Hello!

“Well, twins tell you a lot,” he said during an appearance on “Good Morning America,” before explaining: “When you have twins and you’re raising [them] the same time, the same way, and they’re completely different human beings, you realize how little say you have in who they are.”

Clooney continued, “You try to give them some boundaries, and you try to give them things that you believe in, but they’re just different people.”

“They come out with an opinion, and it’s amazing to watch how different my kids’ personalities are… They’re raised by the same parents, you know,” the actor added.

In another interview with AARP Magazine, he explained that they’re trying to give their children a “normal” upbringing, and that was why they didn’t give them names that were out of the ordinary.

“They’re already going to have enough trouble. It’s hard being the son of somebody famous and successful,” he shared, adding that was the reason he “didn’t want, like, weird-a-s names for our kids.”

During a chat with GQ Magazine this year, Clooney also discussed maintaining his children’s privacy to ensure their safety.

“I have a goal of trying to protect, I don’t want pictures of my kids,” he said. “We deal in very serious subject matters, with very serious bad guys, and we don’t want to have photos of our kids out there.”

Clooney added, “So we have to work hard at trying to stay private, and it’s tricky, as you can imagine.”
