Genndy Tartakovsky Movie 'Fixed' Gets Netflix Premiere Date, First-Look Photos

Netflix has unveiled a trio of first-look stills from Fixed, its new adult animated comedy from renowned filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky (Primal), announcing that it will premiere on the service on Wednesday, August 13.

Starring Adam Devine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, and more, Fixed tells the story of Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning. As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong…?

In a statement explaining the style of animation chosen for Fixed, and how the project evolved over time, Emmy winner Tartakovsky said, “I love caricatured and exaggerated animation, so I knew the sensibility that I like to do and it was a matter of dialing the amount of exaggeration. I think it started out as a rated-R Lady and the Tramp, then as we got into it it naturally became more cartoony and specific to itself. I would say it began to really take shape as we were fortunate to hire some of the best animators working in 2D from around the world.”

Tartakovsky and Jon Vitti penned the script, from their story conceived with Steve Greenberg and Rich Lufrano. Pic’s all-star cast also includes Fred Armisen, Bobby Moynihan, Beck Bennett, Michelle Buteau, and River Gallo. Michelle Murdocca produced the film, with Christian Roedel co-producing, and Sony Pictures Animation as the production company.

A stylistically influential five-time Emmy winner known for series like Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory, as well as Sony’s Hotel Transylvania franchise, Tartakovsky is coming off a couple of series for Adult Swim: the critically acclaimed award winner Primal and adult animated fantasy series Unicorn: Warriors Eternal.
