General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate some fans may be happy to hear that Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan, has been moved from recurring status to contract.
McKenna made the announcement while at the 2025 GH Fan Club Weekend, alongside Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli).
McKenna excitedly shared that after the ABC soap returns to filming from summer hiatus this Monday, August 4, he’ll officially be on contract with GH.
The fans in attendance gave the actor a hearty applause upon his revealing the news. McKenna began his stint as the Jack Brennan recast on February 4, 2025.
This, after the announcement was made that Charles Mesure, the actor who originated the role, was leaving the show.
Mesure debuted the character on December 1, 2023, and was a fan favorite, so it was a shock to many that he was stepping away from the daytime drama.
Despite McKenna’s recurring status, he’s made the Brennan character his own, taking some key qualities that Mesure first presented within the WSB agent head, but also creating a grittier version of the original role.
Currently, Brennan is locked in a multi-faceted arc right now that not only involves a romance with leading lady Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but he’s also the man in charge of a major WSB investigation on PCU professor, Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard).
To make things even stickier, he recruited Carly’s daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), to join the superspy agency, and she’s on the big case too.
So, when momma bear Carly learns Brennan has exposed her cub to this sort of danger, she’s sure to explode.
In addition, he may have to face the music where local henchman Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is concerned, as Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) right-hand man has always had a feeling Brennan was up to no good.
As Carly’s best friend and Godfather to Josslyn, Jason has been looking for a reason to lash back at the WSB agent.
If Jason catches wind of Brennan recruiting Josslyn to the spy world, he’ll be more than happy to give him a taste of revenge for being so sneaky and placing Joss in the line of fire.
General Hospital spoilers suggest that the truth is bound to come out, but will Brennan be prepared for the wrath that both Carly and Jason will bring forth?
