GENERAL Hospital’s Kirsten Storms has shared a scary photo of her eye that has left fans doing a double-take.
Kirsten, who has played Maxie Jones on General Hospital, shared a new Instagram photo showing her unexpected black eye.

The 40-year-old actress pouted in a close-up, black-and-white selfie that showed her face completely covered in what appeared to be black powder.
She revealed in her caption, however, that it was coffee grounds.
Kirsten had accidentally opened a canister of coffee that exploded directly onto her face — specifically on one side.
“One of those ‘funny story, but not funny when I need coffee’ moments…,” she joked in the caption.

“I’ve opened several canisters of @illy_coffee tins and never have the grounds exploded out of that cute metal container,” she added.
“There is a first time for everything.
“I can say with certainty that I prefer my coffee brewed in hot water (or over ice)…straight from the container doesn’t taste that good.”
Kirsten clarified that a warning label was written on the can in several languages, ultimately taking the blame for the mishap.

The photo left fans stunned, with some questioning whether it pertained to a new storyline on the soap opera.
“I thought it was a GH storyline!! I’m thinking ‘who would dare to give Maxie a black eye?” one wrote.
“Not me thinking you had filmed a crazy scene for the show and this was your makeup,” a second added.
“Quick moment had me thinking ‘does she needs backup?'” a third said, wondering if Kirsten had a black eye.
“Ok so that’s coffee, right??? Not a bruise???” another asked.
