GENERAL Hospital’s Cameron Mathison has split up with his wife Vanessa.
The couple, who met in 1998, were married for 22 years before deciding to get a divorce.
Cameron, 54, and Vanessa, 57, announced they were getting a divorce in a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight.
“After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways. We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other,” the exes told the outlet.
They continued, “We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.”
Cameron and Vanessa spoke about remaining dedicated to their children, son Lucas, 21, and daughter Leila, 18, even after splitting up.

“Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them,” the former couple assured fans.
“We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another,” they added before concluding, “We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.”
Cameron and Vanessa met in 1998 while working as models in New York City.
The pair began dating the following year and would eventually tie the knot on July 27, 2002.
Cameron has starred as Drew Cain on the General Hospital since April 2021.
The following year, again in April, Vanessa guessed starred alongside her then-husband on the ABC soap as executive coach Mia Lombardi over a three-episode arc.
She told ET at the time, “This was an absolute dream come true,” before admitting to being “terrified” at the idea of acting in the series.
Cameron revealed, “We were both nervous. I was nervous. I can tell Vanessa was nervous… then I started getting even more nervous.”
The actor also spoke about his marriage to Vanessa during the 2022 interview, telling the outlet, “We’ve been married 20 years coming up this summer, and it hasn’t all been smooth, for sure.
“We went through rocky times the first five years. Getting through those times, and getting to call Vanessa my best friend and fully enjoy every moment together, it’s been better than I could have ever imagined marriage being for me.”

Cameron was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Canada.
He studied at McGill University before acting in commercials across the globe.
The Canadian actor landed his first major acting gig in the TV movie Any Mother’s Son in 1997.
However, it wasn’t until 1998, that Cameron booked his breakout role as Ryan Lavery in All My Children.
He remained in that position until 2011.
Following his departure from the soap, Cameron acted in various Hallmark movies and series.
Cameron landed a recurring role in 2021 on the beloved soap opera General Hospital.
Furthermore, in April 2024, Cameron was named the host of Game Show Network’s Beat the Bridge.
PERSONAL LIFE
In addition to his acting career, Cameron revealed he was diagnosed with cancer in 2019.
However, in 2023, speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Cameron revealed he was cancer-free.
“I had my 4-year cancer checkup, so I’m healthy, cancer-free… doing great. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. I’ve got more energy than I’ve ever been. I worked really hard at it,” he told the outlet.
Cameron and Vanessa Arevalo tied the knot in July 2002 and share children Lucas and Leila.
Vanessa spent most of her career as a model.
She stopped modeling when Leila was born in 2006. However, in 2018, Vanessa made a return to the modeling industry.
Vanessa announced her return in an Instagram post, sharing that she’s signed to LA Models with the caption “It’s official…I’m back at it.”
