General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Marcus Coloma’s (Nikolas Cassadine) onscreen exit is rapidly approaching, so we should talk about his departure and what’ll happen to Nikolas.
Back when Coloma’s firing news broke, it was revealed that he wasn’t part of some final scenes that still needed to be filmed.
Coloma will last air at the end of January, but the character of Nikolas will still be around at the beginning of February.
Of course, that means GH brought in a recast to film the remaining scenes of Nikolas’ exit arc.
Adam Huss previously filled in when Marcus Coloma wasn’t available, so he’s the logical choice to fill in now.
It seems likely Huss will take over as February gets underway and replace Coloma as Nik’s storyline wraps up.
A more permanent recast could be brought in down the road, but this certainly seems like a temporary situation for now.
The goal appears to be writing Nikolas out completely, but they have to finish his part of the story first.
Naturally, it’s easy to see the pieces falling into place now that Nikolas is being kicked out of Wyndemere and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is going after custody of Nik’s child.
Nikolas will also make everything worse by pushing Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) to help Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) repress her memories forever.
That plan could fail spectacularly and leave Nikolas in another tight spot eventually.
General Hospital spoilers say Nikolas will pay Esme a visit on February 1, so it sounds like Adam Huss’ version of Nik will show up at Spring Ridge.
Will coming face to face with her “baby daddy” jog Esme’s memory?
Time will tell, but Nikolas will hear Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) desperate plea in the aftermath on February 2.
Laura may sense that Nikolas is going off the rails and become frantic to stop the damage before it’s too late.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has made multiple death threats against Nikolas, so that could be a concern as Nik’s exit approaches.
Laura will attempt to keep the peace in the Cassadine family, but there’ll be fighting from every angle.
Nikolas may get updates on the walls closing in and make some costly mistakes as a result.
Will Nikolas land in prison or perhaps go on the run? Could Nikolas be presumed dead or even get hooked?
Regardless, Nikolas’ drama will heat up soon, so GH fans will want to stay tuned!
