General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that when Julian Jerome (William deVry) met a grim fate back in 2020, many fans were hopeful that he might come back someday. On social media, deVry received plenty of supportive messages and suggestions about how Julian could still rise from the grave.
At the time, deVry insisted he’d never be back and let fans know they shouldn’t expect any miracles.
Julian Jerome’s run was over for good according to deVry, but now he’s backtracking on that a bit based on a recent Soaps.com interview.
William deVry acknowledged that he did act like his exit was final, but he also claimed his comments were taken a bit out of context.
Although deVry clarified that he loved his time on GH, he suggested that he just felt “there was nothing left to say” considering how things went down for his character.
However, deVry also revealed that around the time of his exit, he talked to GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini and said he’d be willing to return for a short stint that’d be about fixing Julian in a new storyline.
The goal would’ve been to “salvage Julian’s image” and pull many characters who’d been affected by his behavior into this story, so it sounded like deVry had a pretty thorough pitch of what he wanted.
Unfortunately, that storyline never happened – and neither did deVry’s return as Julian Jerome.
Even so, deVry still seems open to coming back for that hot plot if he’s ever invited.
It’s just that with everything else going on in Port Charles these days, deVry doesn’t think that’s in the cards.
“Frank knows that my ‘wish’ still stands. But with new writers and a ton of new characters on the show now, I don’t see that happening,” deVry confessed.

Although there’s been some talk about Julian’s potential GH comeback due to the mystery male alum who’s set to return, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be William deVry!
