GENERAL Hospital executives have done another switcheroo on the long-running soap opera.
Actress Lindsay Hartley was brought back to General Hospital to step in for the show’s star, Kelly Monaco.

Kelly will be taking a break from General Hospital, and in her absence, Lindsay will be portraying Kelly’s soap opera character Sam Morgan.
This is the daytime soap actress’ second go-round when it comes to filling in for Kelly, Soaps In Depth reported on Tuesday.
In 2020 and 2022, Lindsay had a swift stint on General Hospital, temporarily playing Sam.
No info has been disclosed regarding how long Lindsay would be covering for Kelly nor why Kelly will be gone.

The recent cast shakeup has been the topic of discussion on X, formerly Twitter.
“So, we have Lindsay Hartley back as temp Sam, Kate Mansi as nuKristina and Kristen Vaganos as nununuMolly. I think this is the first time all three Davis sisters have been recast at once,” one fan shared on the social media platform.
A second added: “The other soaps rarely use temp actors. General Hospital does it too much and it affects the flow of the stories.”
Another presented: “Lindsay back as Sam? She’s so good y’all. Why hasn’t she been cast on another soap? #GH.”

CHANGING IT UP
General Hospital fans have been hit with many changes to their favorite characters this year.
Actress Courtney Fulk temporarily took over the role of Josslyn Jax from actress Eden McCoy, who currently portrays the character, in December.
The Killer Cheer Mom star made her debut as Josslyn on Monday’s episode of General Hospital.
No information about why Courtney is filling in for Eden has been given.
However, there is a chance it might have something to do with Eden losing her mom.
Eden took to social media in November to share with fans that she had lost her mom to cancer.
Even though Eden isn’t going to be on the show for a time, she still made sure she didn’t miss the 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards.
This year Eden won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Young Performer for her role as Josslyn.
Recasting happens often on General Hospital.
OTHER NEW FACES
In July, ABC executives wasted no time replacing the latest actress who portrayed General Hospital character Molly Lansing-Davis, Mia Kriegel, though they had just hired her.
Mia was picked to take over for Haley Pullos – the actress who was portraying Molly – after the established soap star left on medical leave following a car wreck, Soaps Spoilers reported in May.
Higher-ups in production have since changed their minds about Mia, firing her less than three months after they gave her the part, She Knows reported on Wednesday.
Tapped to replace Haley’s fill-in is Brooke Anne Smith, the publication revealed.
Brooke debuted on General Hospital as Molly in an episode that aired on July 19.
Irrespective of Brooke’s suitability for the role, fans are fed up with the constant shake-ups made to General Hospital’s cast, and have been venting about it on Twitter.
“Speechless at this poor casting,” one fan slammed in a tweet at the time.
Another cosigned: “Brooke could be playing Haley’s mother! How is this thoughtful casting.”
A third added: “This woman playing Molly today is way too old, hope she’s not a permanent recast.”
