Game of Thrones had everyone’s attention when it used to stream. The fantasy period drama was full of twists and turns that would startle you in every episode. The series stars Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and others based on George RR Martin’s book, A Song of Fire and Ice.
The eighth season left everyone disappointed. The loyal fans were displeased with the conclusions given to Daenerys, Jon Snow, Arya and Bran Stark. The show’s creators, David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, have opened up on what exactly went wrong.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Benioff stated that when one signs a five-year deal with a company, one wants the company to be stable. It will help one be alone and do their work without worrying about it being bought by a phone company. However, when AT&T and HBO merged, everything changed. DB Weiss added his thoughts on what caused Game of Thrones Season 8 to have suffered with a dysfunctional ending.
Weiss stated, “Dysfunction kills more projects than anything else, whether it’s interpersonal dysfunction or institutional dysfunction.” Further, the duo even confirmed that they had proposed combining the last two seasons into three movies. However, that didn’t happen, as we got two full seasons indeed. Even though, the audience isn’t a big fan of them.
Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones creator are all geared up for their first Netflix release, 3 Body Problem. The sci-fi series is based on Liu Cixin’s novel of the same name. The series stars Benedict Wong, Jess Hong, Jovan Adepo, Eiza Gonzalez, John Bradley, Alex Sharp, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Pryce, and Liam Cunningham. The series is all set to release on the streaming platform on March 21, 2024.
On the other hand, after the debatable finale of Game of Thrones, HBO revived its trust amongst its viewers with House of the Dragon. The GoT prequel is set 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen is born. The second season is all set to release this year. It stars Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine, Ewan Mitchell, Rhys Ifans and others.
