Vegas Matt has emerged as a very popular influencer in the gambling space. He’s best known for playing high limit slot machines but I personally see him most frequently on TikTok where he places high limit bets in baccarat. His videos are actually where I learned the rules of baccarat and discovered it’s not nearly as complicated as I previously though.
Having picked up nearly a million a followers across the various social media networks, Vegas Matt’s videos are everywhere and Howie Mandel recently invited Stephen Matt Morrow onto his show where a hilarious exchange called into question the age old ‘reality versus Instagram’ paradox.
Howie Mandel asked Vegas Matt what the largest jackpot he’d ever hit on the high limit slots was. He answered $170,000. But then he revealed they were trying hard to win a specific jackpot (at $170K) and actually ended up losing a ton of money that day… That begs the question, does it really count as a jackpot if you lose $140,000 in the same session? Here is that clip on YouTube:
Here is that same video X for those who prefer that medium over YouTube:

At the very least this ‘jackpot’ deserves a massive asterisk, right? I’m not sure you can call it hitting a ‘jackpot’ though when it doesn’t even cover your losses in that same session.
Had he split the session from losing $310K the night before then hitting the jackpot of $170K the next morning I would accept this as a ‘jackpot’ from Vegas Matt but as things stand, the math isn’t mathing and we need to find a new phrase for when you win back some of your losses but still walk out down over six figures.
Side note: there are at least 10 accounts pretending to be him on TikTok right now. It’s unclear who the real Vegas Matt is on there. So head on over to Instagram or Facebook for videos like these:
