Futurebirds have announced a December tour that will see the Athens, Ga.-based ensemble joined by My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel at select stops this winter. The run will commence on Dec. 2 with a show at Victory North in Savannah, Ga., before the group dips down to The Sunshine State for the follow-up to their tour opener.
After the tour’s initial stop, Futurebirds will pop up at Intuition Ale in Jacksonville, Fla. Then, for their second show, Broemel will join the group on stage at the following four gigs in Knoxville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., Birmingham, Ala., and Nashville, Tenn. The latter is presented by Relix and will occur at the Brooklyn Bowl in Music City.
From there, the final tour stops will see Futurebirds, sans Broemel, perform at RamKat in Winston Salem, N.C., on Dec. 16. Then, the last stop of the impending run will happen on Dec. 17, when the indie rockers descend upon the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, N.C.
Following the success of a joint May stint in the Holy City, Broemel shared, “I’m super excited to play these shows in December with my good pals in Futurebirds, one of the few bands I know who make both great albums and then are able to elevate the music in a live show to new places. Our Charleston shows were so fun, and it felt like we were just getting started, so I can’t wait to see where this goes next.”
