On Friday, Sept. 9, indie rock outfit Futurebirds performed a celebratory show at The Signal in Chattanooga, Tenn. The jubilee was in commemoration of the release of Bloomin’ Too, their collaborative EP with My Morning Jacket guitarist/producer Carl Broemel, and served as an official kick-off event for the Moon River Festival.
During the event, the band – comprised of Carter King (vox/guitar), Daniel Womack (vox/guitar), Thomas Johnson (singer/guitarist), Brannen Miles (bass), Kiffy Myers (pedal steel), Spencer Thomas (keyboards) and Tom Myers (drums) – debuted songs off the fresh release. They also announced with joy that they plan to release a Bloomin’ LP (comprised of the new release and the first Bloomin’ EP, which dropped on July 28, 2021), on vinyl which is expected to hit stores on May 26, 2023.
“We had a blast debuting the new Bloomin’ Too tunes at Moon River Festival’s kickoff event in Chattanooga Friday night, hope y’all dig the music!” said King in a statement.
