Fortnite players are causing a conundrum for rules enforcers as many of them are refusing to shoot opponents in Sabrina Carpenter skins. For those unfamiliar, this kind of behavior is the direct opposite of the goal of the game.

In fact, as games writer Cande Maldonado at Dextero explains, “you’re supposed to eliminate every opponent – unless you’re officially paired in Duos, Trios, or Squads – as teaming up with enemies in Solo mode is a big no-no.”

Usually, anyone caught doing such a thing in Fortnite is considered to be cheating and is banned. Sometimes it’s for as little as three days, but in it can be permanent if done repeatedly.

So, what are the powers-that-be at Fortnite supposed to do when a group of players dressed up like Sabrina Carpenter begin doing this instead of, you know, killing each other?

For those wondering why Sabrina Carpenter is even in Fortnite, it is because she is officially headlining Fortnite Festival Season Eight, which began on April 8. That means Fortnite players now have access to new items like Sabrina Carpenter’s Tour-Ready Sabrina Outfit, SC Heart Purse Back Bling, Taste Emote, Please Please Please Emote, Cute Cutout Contrail, and her Mic.

Players not following the rules is made even more problematic thanks to the game’s new Emote Together feature, which allows, nay, encourages stuff like this to happen…

Then again, perhaps Sabrina Carpenter-skinned players not shooting one another might not be the biggest problem Fortnite has on its hands with the release of these skins.

Sabrina Carpenter, who never actually played Fortnite prior to her collaboration, told Rolling Stone in a statement before all hell broke loose, “I’ve always found it exciting for fans to be able to interact and engage with music through different art forms and to interact in a way that’s genuinely fun. So, for the fans that haven’t been able to come to the tour, or to any new fans, this is such a special way to still be a part of Short n’ Sweet world.”

Oh, they’re having fun alright.
