FORMER PrettyLittleThing boss Umar Kamani and his brother Adam have launched a brand new agency away from fashion.
Umar, 36, and Adam, 34, announced their interior design company Kamani Rossar today, in partnership with industry giant, Rob Rosser.
Together with the designer, the brothers are joint owners of the venture, which will offer interior design services to a global clientele of luxury brands and Kamani Property Group’s portfolio.
These include commercial, residential, and industrial buildings in Manchester, London, Mumbai, Dubai, and New York City.
Kamani Rossar, intentionally spelt differently to Rob’s surname, has designed a yacht, a family home’s entertaining space, a hotel lobby and a hotel courtyard as part of its initial projects.
Adam said: “It has been a long-held ambition to make bespoke, luxury interior design one of our business offerings.
“I’ve always admired Rob’s work, so I’m so pleased we are partnering with him on Kamani Rossar.
“It’s full steam ahead with our ambition to become renowned worldwide as the premier authority in interior, architecture and developments.”
Rob added: “I’m so thrilled to be working with Adam and Umar.
“I want Kamani Rossar to be at the forefront of providing excellence in culturally infused, luxury design, and a tailored, bespoke service for the differing tastes of our client base across the globe. I can’t wait to get started!”
Fast fashion mogul Umar is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the UK thanks to his former company, PrettyLittleThing.
He co-founded the firm with Adam in January 2012 when he was just 24 years old. Their father, Mahmud Kamani, owns parent company Boohoo.
The online clothing retailer began as a simple market stall and is now an enormous name in the fashion trade.
PLT has collaborated with countless famous faces, with Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora, Jessie J, Khloe Kardashian, Ashley Graham and Nicki Minaj all seen wearing the brand.
Umar, along with his siblings Adam and Samir, enjoy a showbiz lifestyle flaunted widely on Instagram.
His net worth is believed to be around $455 million (£331 million).
The Times reported that he received a £3.4 million dividend from PrettyLittleThing three months before selling out to Boohoo.
According to reports, he sold his 34% stake in PrettyLittleThing in May 2020 for £330 million.
The deal gave him £161 million in cash and a 2.6% stake in Boohoo.
Last April, he made the “difficult decision” to give up his CEO role at the company to pursue “new challenges”.
