The Foo Fighters have outlined a one-night-only charity concert slated to take place on Tuesday, March 5, in Washington, D.C. Power will host the event to the Patients, a non-profit advocating for increasingly affordable, accessible, and equitable healthcare services. In addition to the Dave Grohl-fronted ensemble, the event will include featured attendance from hip-hop legends Fat Joe and Chuck D.
In the official press release detailing the charitable night of music, Foo Fighters offered, “When we were asked by Power to the Patients to help raise awareness of the need for transparency in healthcare pricing, we immediately said yes. People suffering from illness and injury shouldn’t have to worry about being bankrupted by surprise charges for their treatment.”
The celebrated rock ensemble, lawmakers, government officials, and their dedicated staff will unite to raise awareness of inequities and unpredictability for patients when hospitals and insurers hide upfront prices. The aforementioned subject affects more than 100 million Americans experiencing medical debt.
The push for change arrives ahead of the impending election cycle to put pressure on those who can enact change for the people. Apart from Foo Fighters, previous contributors to the cause include Jelly Roll, Wyclef Jean, French Montana, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Lainey Wilson, Valerie June and Shepard Fairey.
