The first look at Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid in HBO’s Harry Potter series has been released. Frost is best known for his work on the “Cornetto trilogy” — Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and At World’s End — alongside Simon Pegg.
The photo of Nick Frost as Hagrid is the first look at one of the adult characters in the series, as HBO also released the first look at Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter.
In addition to his work on the Cornetto trilogy, the 53-year-old Frost has also appeared in films such as How To Train Your Dragon, Fighting With My Family, Tomb Raider, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and Attack the Block.

In addition to Frost as Hagrid, HBO’s Harry Potter series will also star Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore alongside newcomers Dominic McLaughlin will star in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
HBO’s Harry Potter series is beginning production this summer and is expected to be released on HBO sometime next year.
