Fender Offers to Replace Instruments Lost in the LA Wildfires

Fender is offering to replace musical instruments and gear lost in the LA wildfires.

The company released a statement on its official website with an online submission form for musicians, producers, and other creators and hobbyists who have lost equipment in the wildfires.

Fender’s statement reads:

“TO OUR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY

We are devastated by the fires continuing to rage across Los Angeles – a city that many of our employees and artist communities call home. As a Southern California guitar-maker for over 75 years, we are struggling to process what our diverse and deep-rooted music scene has lost. We grieve alongside you.

To those affected: we are committed to finding immediate and impactful ways to support you, today and in the days to come. To the first responders: thank you for your tireless fight to contain these fires and keep our city safe.

We know how important music is – not just to an artist’s livelihood, but to every player’s health and happiness. If you are a musician who has lost an instrument or gear we invite you to submit details on this page.

We will respond and help replenish requests to the best of our abilities.

As we continue to process the magnitude of this tragedy, we are currently identifying more ways we can help the L.A. music community rebuild. Expect more announcements over the coming weeks as we understand how best to do so amidst this still-evolving situation.”

Fender’s network of brands — including Gretsch, Jackson, EVH, Charvel, and PreSonus — are all mentioned on the webpage with the statement and submission form, so if you lost anything from guitars to recording interfaces, there’s a chance Fender might replace it.

As for the online form, affected parties are asked to submit personal information, a list of equipment (with serial numbers if possible), and are asked to “describe their musical journey.”

“This application is open only to residents of Los Angeles County, California, who have been impacted by the wildfires occurring in Los Angeles County in January 2025,” states Fender’s Terms and Conditions, and you may be asked to verify information. Visit Fender’s website more information.

As strong winds continue to extend the wildfires in LA, you can help with relief efforts via Consequence‘s special “All for LA” edition of our Protect Live Music t-shirts, where 100% of proceeds will go to MusiCares’ Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort. Find additional ways to support and donate here.
