Father John Misty Reissuing I Love You, Honeybear for 10th Anniversary

Father John Misty will reissue his beloved second album, I Love You, Honeybear, to mark the LP’s 10th anniversary. Appropriately arriving on Valentine’s Day (February 14th), the album will be available as a single vinyl LP paired with a digital-only companion release of demos that were initially released on cassette in 2015.

The digital companion piece for the reissue will also include a solo performance of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box,” which was initially recorded for SiriusXM during the album’s original press run. The project marked a breakthrough moment for Josh Tillman’s work under the name Father John Misty and is included in our list celebrating the Top 100 Albums of the 2010s. Pre-orders are ongoing.

The LP, which Tillman described as a concept album about his own life, weaves through subjects like his relationship with his wife, Emma, and showcases his trademark dry humor. The reissue will be featured on a striking red vinyl.

In November, he released his sixth project under the Father John Misty umbrella, titled Mahashmashana. He’s currently gearing up for a tour kicking off February 12th in Chattanooga, Tennessee, just days before the Honeybear reissue is delivered to the world. Get tickets here.

Late last year, he released a track titled “God’s Trash” in which he playfully unpacked the strange coincidence of releasing albums on the same day as chart-topping Kendrick Lamar in 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
